We believe that quality gun dogs come from quality parents. Our foundation dogs have come from reputable breeders with well-established bloodlines. In order for one of our dogs to be considered for breeding, we adhere to some very sound criteria to ensure that quality offspring are produced.
Since we’re a family-oriented operation, it’s our goal to only breed one or two high quality litters per year. We breed primarily because we love GSPs and we’re confident that we’re adding something to sustain or improve the breed when we decide to produce a litter. For health reasons, we will only breed a given dam two or three times within her life and typically only breed her every other year during her prime. In addition, we provide a written 36-month guarantee backing the health and quality of our puppies (see the Dog Ownership Contract / Health Guarantee). We will work with the buyer to ensure that they receive the type of puppy they want and then continue to be there for support as the pup matures. We’re especially fond of placing puppies into homes where they will become gun dogs and be tested through NAVHDA or AKC programs. All Bonasa Flats GSP puppies will be released to their new owners on or around their 49th day (seven weeks). Puppies will be AKC & NAVHDA registered, have their tails docked to a 40% length, dew claws removed, and up-to-date on all their necessary shots and medications.
Bottom Line: We work hard to demonstrate that we have high quality gun dogs so we can be confident that the next generation of Bonasa Flats GSPs are going to meet or beat those same high standards.
