October 2007 - She'll Hunt For Anyone
One of the nicest things about Belle is how easy-going she is. When I want to go on a
leisurely hunt with a buddy, it's usually Belle who gets the nod. I get to hunt with my
brother, Ken, just a few times each season and we try to time it so we get good gunning
on woodcock. Going after timberdoodles with a steady, easy-going dog is really a nice
"gentleman wingshooter's" hunt. Belle sticks her points and the birds give us plenty of
time to get ready for the flush and shot. And, of course, there's also plenty of
good-natured banter when the shooting doesn't go quite as planned.
