Hunting Pictures & Tales
October 2007 - Julie's First Wild Birds
There's a definite touch of irony associated with this photo.  The lovely bride-to-be of a
veteran Wisconsin ruffed grouse hunter shoots her first wild birds on the Fort Berthold
Indian Reservation on the high plains of Western North Dakota.  How does that happen?
But hey... that's just the way it worked out.  We had an excellent time on our first trip
specifically for sharpies and this particular hunt was definitely one for the highlight
reel.  We got into a lot of birds, the dog work was admirable, and we got a couple limits
of what we were after.  Julie still declares that sharptails are her favorite.
