November 2008 - Lefty's Roosters
The cute little guy under my arm is Lefty - one of the pups from our 2008 Boon X Belle
litter. While training Lefty for his owner, he got to come along with us on our hunt
during Thanksgiving week. He was only 7-months-old at the time, but he got lots of
bird exposure during the trip. After tearing his ear on barbed wire on the first day of
the hunt, he had to take it easy for a couple days. On the Friday after Thanksgiving,
me and Lefty went on a hunt I call "The Milk Run." The young boy stuck two gorgeous
points as we hunted the length of a mile long fence row. That front rooster's tail
measured 26 inches long! Lefty is going to be a stellar bird dog someday.
