October 2007 - Fond Wingshooting Memory
The diversity of duck species we saw and bagged on our Cando duck hunt was
incredible. I especially love the challenge that Blue-Winged Teal and Redheads
present as they buzz the spread. After being humbled by their speed and agility
several times, I was finally able to adjust my shooting eye and get the drop on a pair of
Redheads. A trio of 'em came in screaming low over the blocks from right to left -
directly in my "sweet spot." Two shots rang out and two marks went down for Boon -
one short and one long. Here he finishes the second mark and a dandy drake
Redhead was brought to hand.
